Long awaited Update!
Posted by fredblog51 on Thursday, May 21st, 2009
Hi Everybody……..apologies in the delay firstly lost my log in password for here so frustrating.
OK here we go……..The frozen shoulder is still not working since January even though Physio has got it more mobile, So I now await the Orthopedic appointment to take things further.
As to the business, I have had no work for 6 months, plus the problem with the should means that I have now folded my business, Due to petrol prices and material cost being to high I made very little money.
On a good note, I have just got myself a little Part time job at City link in the Ferry Terminal, so if anyone wants to come down for a chat…..you know where I am!
The Orpington chickens gave us a little brood of 6 new chicks, the East Indian Ducks layed 17 Eggs and only produced 2 Ducklings, alas one died so My little Holly was devistaed, so we are hand rearing the last one as the ducks just leave the little one alone
Oh and we lost Peking the female Duck, she was attacked by a Neigbours 2 DOGS, not that he will say anything about It!….But he was seen by someone else.
Not much else has changed the family are well, Chris (Our Son) is studying for his exams, Holly is as busy as ever…..and Sarah is putting up with me![]()
Bye for now
Fred

Plaidon 22 May 2009 at 12:37 am 1A time of ups and downs … hope those dogs stay in their own backyard!
And that the next setting of East Indian ducks are more fertile.
Chin up
taddoeon 22 May 2009 at 6:19 am 2Sorry to hear about your run of bad luck luck;fred
and i hope things get better for you and your family soon. I have a dog,but cannot understand why certain dog owners let their dogs run free all the time. Mine is always out on his lead as i don’t appreciate dogs running about in my garden destroying everything so why should i let mine run amok in other peoples ground.Having said this i’m glad your back on IB: :
stromnessdragonon 22 May 2009 at 6:48 am 3Nice to see you back, Fred. Sorry about your downs and pleased about your ups! Hope the job works out and good luck with the last duck! Perhaps you could claim for a ‘duck island’ on expenses?

Jillon 22 May 2009 at 7:59 am 5Great to see you back, Fred, but very sorry things haven’t gone too well for you. Perhaps it’s just as well things went quiet - with an incapacitated shoulder it would have been very frustrating if you’d had to turn business down. I’m very sorry, though - difficult times to be starting up a new business.
Your duck saga sounds dreadful, poor Holly (and poor ducks). I could never keep livestock for that very reason! Fingers crossed for a better outcome in the future.
Good luck Mr City Link!
Fredblog51on 22 May 2009 at 8:26 am 6Thanks everyone for your kind words, as you say we will get through it……it’s so strange after working for 35 years and never been unemployed it can get you down.
Oh on the duck front I think shes laying again, cos shes gone off hiding.
See you all soon..Fred
Soapladyon 22 May 2009 at 11:33 am 7Good luck Holly, with your precious duckling …!
Good to hear from you Fred …
Flying Caton 22 May 2009 at 2:29 pm 8Lovely to see you again Mr Fredblogs
Keep your shotgun handy in case of future livestock attacks
Me’n'Marmers hope your shoulder unfreezes eventually (hope it isn’t your gun shoulder!). Tws and others who are enjoying the fruits of your previous labours are very lucky to have useful mementos of your skills. Paws crossed for the Future.

Barneyon 02 Jun 2009 at 3:48 pm 14Hi Fred, just saw your blog. Sorry to read of your hard times. Being unemloyed for the first time is pretty unpleasant … and it doesn’t get better the second and third time! But somehow one manages and afterwards you look back and see maybe there were some good lessons learnt during the experience. I’m sure a guy with so much talent and a loving family to support him will pull something out of the hat in due course. We’re all rooting for you! Hugs to Holly, of course.
